A Sea Turtle

I made this Sea Turtle ATC last week for a play it forward type of trade.
I know it's going to a good home and to someone who really appreciates my work.

Part of the fun of making ATCs for me is knowing that my art ends up in someone's unique collection.
I have this theory that one day, one or some of my ATCs will end up in a museum in some major collection.
Yes, I've really traded more than I could count. I estimate it's around 2,000 cards I've mailed since 2005.

Do you own any of my ATCs? ;)

Old Postcards

It's wild stumbling on to things you made a long time ago.

As of this fall, I have been making mail art for nine years.

I started making handmade postcards and exchanging them through the mail on the defunct Postcardx, then Postcrossing, and then my site with my ex SendThingsto.us (also gone now). From handmade postcards, I started making artist trading cards which became a large passion of mine.

I decided that I should start using Postcrossing again as I do miss exchanging postcards with strangers. I used to feel like I was traveling all over the world through a pen and some paper and would like that feeling again.

When I logged into my account to make it active again, I noticed some postcards I made a long time ago. Like 6-7 years ago...I thought I would share them with you.

What's so great about this postcard, is that I shot this photograph when I was on a boat in the Chesapeake Bay in high school, I developed this photograph myself and then later made it into this postcard.
I have no idea where the pink ink came from but that's what I love about this.

I made this collage for a user that said they liked Scuba Diving and it was sent off to Jamaica.

I believe this postcard was a sketch the scanned and then colored on.
The feet are so poorly drawn, it's driving me slightly batty but I still think it's a fun card.

Some favorite moments from Survivor Fans vs. Favorites 2

I loved loved loved this season of Survivor.
You see, I've seen every season of survivor except for the first (which I'm getting shortly from Netflix).

...Everyone in my life knows how obsessed I am, I can't wait to watch it every week when it's airing.

There are so many wonderful moments this season and it may be one of my favorites.

The episode where the loved ones showed up. Really emotional.
Jeff Probst cried.
Brenda telling her Dad Raymond she was so proud of him and telling him thank you for making her stay humble.
Cochrane's Mom pretty much just the way I imagined her.
Sherri falling to her knees finding out her son was on the island.
Eddie's Mom saying he's so skinny she'll need to fatten him up when he gets home.
Brenda giving up her reward and Erik making hearts with his hands towards her on shore.
Dawn acting like she belonged in a looney bin.

Malcolm was crazy enough to play two seasons in a row, apparently he only had a few days in between the seasons.
Malcolm's power play move of using two immunity idols in one tribal, thus saving himself, Eddie and Reynold while voting out the powerhouse that was Phillip.
Sorry not sorry, Stealth are us.
This season's player of the game.

What Eddie said he would do with a million dollars, he said bars and dogs are his favorite things so he would open up a dog kennel/play place that also had a bar so you could drink. LOL.
The fact that Eddie seemed so happy to be in the game even when he no longer had allies and congratulated whoever won individual immunity with hugs and kind words.
Eddie thinking he would of won against Cochrane.

A fan turned winner!
The fact that Cochran won and it was very well deserved. I was SOOOO Happy.
I admittedly cringed every time I heard Cochrane's name come up for a vote all season long.
The last time he played he was so timid and called a coward, yet this season he won FOUR individual immunity challenges and REALLY played the game on his own.
He even kept his word to Dawn, which honestly I was kind of shocked about.

Awesome season.
I can't wait for September for Survivor Blood vs. Water.
I have a feeling it's past Survivor's family members playing...it's going to be great.

Happy Monday, hope you all have a great week :)

Friday Favorites

It's time for another round of Friday Favorites!

How To Tell if those eggs in your Fridge are Fresh.

Small Purple Black and Blue Botanical Ceramic Ring Dish (no 233) via SlashofBlue

Pretzel Pizza Rolls via Voluptuous Vixens

What you'll need:
1 cups milk
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons butter, melted
2 1/4 cups flour (or more)
1/2 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoons fine salt
1 cup shredded mozzarella
1/2 cup chopped pepperoni
1/3 cup baking soda
3 cups warm water
Coarse salt (I used kosher, but the coarser the better)
5 tablespoons butter, melted
Pizza, sauce for dipping

Warm up the milk in the microwave or on the stove for just about one and a half minutes. It should be about 110º. If it's too hot it will kill the yeast. You should be able to comfortably keep your finger in it. Stir in the yeast and let it sit for about 3 minutes. Add the butter and sugar. Add the flour about 1/2 cup at a time and the add the fine salt, seasoning, and garlic powder. Add a little more flour if it's still too wet. Knead for about 10 minutes with a stand mixer, or by hand. Put it in a greased bowl and cover with a wet cloth. Let rise for 30-60 minutes in a moist, warm place until about doubled in size. Preheat the oven to 400º. In a large bowl (or 4 cup measuring cup) combine the warm water and baking soda. Punch down the dough and divide in half. Roll one half into a thick rope/log. Flatten and top with half of the cheese and pepperoni. Pinch together trying to seal the cheese and pepperoni in the best you can. Dunk the whole rope in the baking soda water for only a couple seconds. Remove from water and slice into bite sized pieces with a serrated knife. Place on a greased baking sheet and sprinkle with coarse salt. Bake for about 8 minutes or until browned. Dip each in the melted butter while hot. Serve with pizza sauce.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, Happy Friday! :)

Five Fashion Tips Via This Selfie

I present to you, Five Fashion Tips via this Self Portrait I took this morning.

1. It's okay to mix prints that probably don't go together, like this alphabet sweater and floral print dress.
2. It's fine to wear your hair naturally because you're too lazy busy to style it.
3. It's totally okay to wear blush without foundation/concealer because for some reason you totally forgot that step and just went straight to the peach colored blush.
4. It's really fine to go out of the house without fixing your eyebrows. No one will notice except for you.
5. It's absolutely fine to wear the same jewelry you wore yesterday and have been wearing for over a week.

Happy Thursday. ;)

Lysol Touch of Foam Hand Wash Review

I recently got to try out the Lysol Touch of Foam Antibacterial Hand Wash and I can honestly say that I am hooked.

Things I love about this Soap:
The scent "Creamy Vanilla Orchid" is Heavenly and not too strong.
The dispenser dispenses a clean foam, which is thick and doesn't run (so you don't waste any soap).
The fact that it's by Lysol and kills 99.9% of Bacteria.
It's the perfect size to sit on the side of my kitchen sink.
The texture of the foam, it's creamy and enriched with micro-bubbles delivering moisture to your hands.
The mister even likes the way it smells.

In the words of Lysol's packaging "Soft on skin, hard on germs."

I give this soap an A+.

I received this product for free as a BzzAgent and was not compensated for this post, all opinions are my own.

Recent Artist Trading Cards

I'm been on an Artist Trading Card making Spree.

Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) are 2.5" x 3.5" works of art that are mostly traded via mail all over the world. I've been making ATCs for 8+ years now.

Here are some I recently sent off.
