What are ATCs (Artist Trading Cards)? ATCs are tiny works of art that are made to trade. There are no restrictions of medium – materials might involve collage, drawing, painting, stained glass, metal, wax, computer generated imaging, photography – the possibilities are endless! ATCs are intended to be a non-commercial, non-hierarchical avenue for artistic exchange. Cards are traded one for one. Everyone is invited to participate. ATCs can be originals, in series, edition or multiple. They should be “signed” on the back. Contact info may also appear on the back if desired.
My block prints are going to be featured in the Print Zero Studios-Print Exchange #5.
woo =)

Two confirmed shows where my prints will be so far:

Sev Shoon Arts Center: Seattle, WA

and

Rainbow Bldg. Gallery at University of Miami: Coral Gables, FL

BUY THIS BOOK

So I just got this sweet book in the mail from artist and author Keri Smith. She personally sent me a copy...which is even sweeter! =)

What is it called? "WRECK THIS JOURNAL"
Here is the book description on amazon:
"For anyone who's ever wished to, but had trouble starting, keeping, or finishing a journal or sketchbook comes Wreck This Journal, an illustrated book that features a subversive collection of prompts, asking readers to muster up their best mistake- and mess-making abilities to fill the pages of the book (and destroy them). Acclaimed illustrator Keri Smith encourages journalers to engage in "destructive" acts-poking holes through pages, adding photos and defacing them, painting with coffee, and more-in order to experience the true creative process. Readers discover a new way of art and journal making-and new ways to escape the fear of the blank page and fully engage in the creative process."

It really is a cool book...some of the prompts include ripping pages, licking colorful candy and licking pages, ripping out pages and giving it to a friend, a stain page, writing one word over and over again, dragging it thru the mud, mailing it to yourself and other wacky things!!

its great for everyone, not just artists/writers!! its a great and easy way to express yourself and blow off some steam =)

so please support Keri Smith's wonderful efforts and get this book!! I will start to scan pages when I get working on mine =)

my first metal necklace.

So here it is, my very first necklace.

It's silver silver and all the parts were made and soldered by me (including the clasp)!

Let me know what you think, I'm now in the process of buying a torch and other things to make more works. =)

need your help!

I am collecting the following things:

-small metal tins (altoid tins, those metal cigerette cases that i think camel makes, matchboxes, etc..)
-photographs that are not wanted..actual photographs NOT digital. These will be altered and you will NOT get them back.
-scrap papers or paper scraps (patterned, handmade, interesting papers!)

let me know if you are willing to donate any of the following things to me.

THANKS!

so over the weekend I spend time drawing artist trading cards for the ATCards draw-a-thon.
Many have already been traded but here are some of my favorites:

I sent off my goofy looking dinosaur ATCs off to Arizona today.

Hope the people that get them in the swap enjoy them.

Would of scanned them but my scanner is now back in Annapolis and we will be happily reunited on Friday.

I guess I can upload another artwork of mine for fun, so here it is:

My 5 by 3 ft oil painting. It sill needs some work. The colors are off, because face it I'm not a good photographer.

MAIL ART

so mail art has been consuming me lately.

I've been making artist trading cards like a mad woman for swaps.

I also finished my lino prints for the exchange and stupidly gave them to my mom to send off without signing them..so I have to wait to send them out.

I cant wait for the summer to officially begin for me on friday afternoon after my physics exam.

Hello english classes, the chesapeake bay, hopefully a job, and art calls.

Here is a new ATC of mine just for fun. Stay hello to this sweet duck.
