It closes the gap of the blog community and enables us to interact, discover new and wonderful people, and in the process possibly win a prize or many prizes along the way. 2007 had roughly 85-90 participants and many connections were made because of it......friendships that are still going strong."

And so it goes...

I'll admit it.

Sometimes I get so upset about the silliest things.
Most of the time it's ridiculous.

...But I guess it's better than being a robot and not being able to shed emotions at all.

Things you May Not know about me: 1

(picture from the shelf in my studio)

Things you many not know about me: Episode One

1. When I was 16, I wore ribbons in my hair. My favorite ones were a purple one with white polka dots and a rainbow one.

2. I consider myself to be a collector.
Since I was little I've collected all kinds of things... shells, buttons, bits of paper, sea glass, marbles, jewelry, things I find outside (acorns, stones, nuts, leaves, etc.), beads, small containers, found photographs, vintage photographs, postcards, stationary, art and other things I'm sure I forgot to list.

3. When I was in 8th grade, I bought a metallic blue bracelet with small spikes on it.
It wasn't similar to anything else I wore but I loved that bracelet till I lost it.

4. I used to hate to draw with pencil. I was told numerous times that I shaded weird...and now I really appreciate pencil and the way I draw.
I was also told numerous times that I couldn't draw, HELLO NAY SAYERS I AM IN GRAD SCHOOL FOR ART. If anyone ever tells you you're not good enough...YOU SHOULD IGNORE THEM.

5. I love bright colored socks. I love bright colored anything.

6. I once had a small pet duck named Dottie. I saved her from my first job (at an animal park) where they were going to feed her to a snake.

7. My favorite word is "Kitchen" because one my friends in 10th grade told me it has a nice ring to it when said aloud and I agreed. Also, possibly because of my love for food. ;)

8. As a kid I loved grape and cream soda, but there is too much garbage in soda now...so I try not to drink soda often.

9. I like being near water but I almost drowned in a pool as a kid (before I learned how to swim). I don't consider myself a great swimmer now and I can't say that I even love swimming...but I still have a fear of drowning.

10. Sharks and anything else in the ocean fascinate me. Corals, fish, rocks, mammals..you name it.

Are you ready for OWOH 2010?!

ONE WORLD ONE HEART IS BACK!! WOOOOO HOOOO!

For those of you who don't know what One World One Heart is...
It was created in 2007 by Lisa Swifka of A whimsical Bohemian blog (see flyer)

taken directly from her site:
"I created this event in 2007. The original idea behind this giveaway event was to bring bloggers together from around the world who may never ordinarily meet. It closes the gap of the blog community and enables us to interact, discover new and wonderful people, and in the process possibly win a prize or many prizes along the way. 2007 had roughly 85-90 participants and many connections were made because of it......friendships that are still going strong.
We had a strong showing the first year for sure, and then in 2008 we had just about tripled that number. In 2009 there were 911 participants, to say I was amazed is an understatement. 28 countries were represented in the 2009 event as well.
This is more than wanting to win something.......that is only the means.......in the end it's about finding kindred spirits. Someone who may be fairly new to blogging, not sure how to navigate, find others and have others find them....Some are long time bloggers and in some cases well known in the blogging community. Whatever the case it brings all of them together."

So how do you participate in one world one heart?
1. have a blog
2. set up a giveaway, it must start on January 25th and be linked directly to Lisa's blog. While most items are handmade, Lisa is now opening this year to non-handmade items...cds, dvds, books, something vintage, etc.
3. Look through all the blogs, stop by...leave comments and find new favorites to read!
4. When the OWOH ends, you announce your winner and send them your prize!!

If you don't have a blog, you can still enter giveaways...but it's nice to give too ;)

I participated last year and gave away an original Artist Trading Card (ATC) of one of my aliens and an envelope filled with collage images and beautiful scrap papers!!

I WILL BE PARTICIPATING AGAIN THIS YEAR.
But I will be keeping my prize(s) a mystery till then.
Possiblities are handmade Jewelry by me (most likely), ATCs, sea glass and beads!!

So make sure you check back ;)
